Community Powered Netflix
This is the second site Aboundant has constructed that has a similar architecture to how Netflix serves video from Amazon Web Services, but this time we devised a method to allow for community submissions of video, which are then held for approval, editing, and finally become new resource posts when approved. This allows the Minnesota conference to pool resources from all over the state with the appropriate amount of automation.
Even though the site is free and open to the public, it has a robust membership system allow verified users to rate and comment on resources. Community contributors are acknowledged through their own author pages.
This site has helped drive connectedness across our community. People can also contribute the resources that have been effective in their individual contexts. It does everything we dreamed it would do.

But will people use it?
Aboundant has helped to launch a number of resource sites over the years but no matter how well they were constructed, getting their intended audience to adopt them was hit or miss. These days we’re keen to work with partner clients to build adoption strategies right from the start. That’s what we did with Minnesota Conference UMC.
In addition, we helped them choose the most appropriate licensing strategy encourage sharing, but not abuse, of content.

We encourage the organizations we work with to take ownership of their projects, thus designs and content are subject to change.
