Aboundant is committed to environmental stewardship, and (as of this week!) we are a carbon-neutral church website provider. We’ll tell you much more about that in a future post. As a part of this commitment, we have created a series of Lenten images to go with some creation care tips written by a group called UM Creation Justice. We hope they are useful to you as you help your audience become more aware of the ways they can care for our shared planet.
Background: Last year, our Director of User Experience, Tim, took part in a program called Earthkeepers. Graduates develop personal projects related to creation care and environmental justice ministries. The initial part of his project is a website for another Earthkeeper’s project: free creation care tips that can be used in church bulletins, newsletters, and so on. The tips we’re sharing here are part of that project.
How to Use the Tips: You can use the tips and images as you wish! Share them in your bulletin, on social media, in your church emails, and so on. We request that you credit “Creation Justice Tips” as the source or link to umcreationjustice.org/tips.
Each of the tips is very brief, and most have a theological element to them. Because the group that created them is United Methodist, some will refer to UMC churches or documents. Use any or all, as you wish. The first set of 21 tips and images can be downloaded below. (Additional tips and images will be available in about a week.)
